Is the Brain Drain Supposed to Flush?

.
In a disheartening example of the spread of American scientific ignorance, Brian Alters of McGill University in Montreal has been denied a grant by Canada's Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council on the grounds that Alters had not supplied "adequate justification for the assumption in the proposal that the theory of evolution, and not intelligent design theory, was correct." Alters, who testified for the plaintiffs in Kitzmiller v. Dover, wanted to study how the rising popularity in the United States of Intelligent Design is eroding acceptance of evolutionary science in Canada. He seems to have gotten his answer without spending a penny.

Maybe we should build a wall around America as our more troglodyte politicians want. Not to keep the rest of the world out, but to keep our stupidity in..

Sheesh, there goes my Canadian escape route plan.

(I really just posted this message to say "Thank You" for a reader-friendly evo blog.)
